Dongan Hills

In the 1960s, when the Verrazano Bridge opened connecting Staten Island to Brooklyn, the population grew immensely. The history of this neighborhood is similar to many other NY neighborhoods with great population growth after the end of the second World War.
The neighborhood is served by several local and express bus lines, and the Staten Island Railroad. Take a drive down Dongan Hills Ave to check out the historic neighborhood for yourself. The walkable tree-lined streets, characteristic of New York’s older neighborhoods, grant access to many impressive frontages, often built in split-level configurations with staircases leading to raised porches. Even with the variety, potential buyers can still find the white-panel siding on red-brick exterior design typical of many Staten Island communities.
